CARBINE CLUB COLT OF THE YEAR: Congratulations to 17-year-old David TYRRELL from Easts who has won the prestigious Carbine Club Colt of the Year Award. After scoriing 8 tries in 5 matches in Colts at the start of the year, David was elevated to Qld Cup where he has scored 10 tries, including 2 against North Qld in last Friday night's knockout semi final win over North Qld. David, who attended Iona College, bounced back from a bad year with injury to put in an outstanding season and has been dual registered with South Sydney for next year. Well done David!!

FOGS COLTS CHALLENGE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Tweed Heads U18 hooker/backrower Harry WITT staged a remarkable finish to the season to snatch this award from Burleigh fullback Marty Paulson. With Matt Lindsay, who Witt shared hooking duties with for most of the year, sidelined with injury, Witt scored the maximum 3 points in each of the last 3 games of the season to move from 11 to 20 points with Paulson stuck on 19. Incidentally, Lindsay had scored 14 points before being sidelined with 6 games remaining and finished 5th. Witt toured England and France with the AIS team late last year, along with several other players in this year's Colts competition. Easts hooker Brent Kuskey and Ipswich 5/8 Tim McIlwain tied for 3rd with 15 points. Other Clubs' leading vote getters were Jacob Fauid (Aspley - 9), Luke Samoa (Norths - 10), Phil Daisy (Redcliffe - 10), Chris Sandow (SL - 12), Ben Whiddon (SC - 9), ex-Sprana hooker, Brendan Altadonna (WD - 9), and Luke Menhinnitt (WM -11). Of the 11 clubs, 9 of the leading scorers are U18s!! David Georgiou (Eas - 11), James Pritchard (SL - 11) and Todd Hair (Eas - 10) were other players to poll double figures.
